Beyond filmmaking, I write and build independent projects around the things I genuinely care about.
IT ALL STARTED WITH A CAMCORDER THE SIZE OF MY HEAD
Long before I ever thought of myself as a filmmaker, I was already running around pointing cameras at things I found interesting.
This was me in Kavala, Greece, in the early 1990s — armed with a camcorder almost as big as I was and apparently already convinced that family holidays needed documenting.
There was no grand plan to become a filmmaker. No film school followed. In fact, life took me on a rather spectacular detour.
But the curiosity never really went away.
Decades later, I'm still doing essentially the same thing: travelling to places that fascinate me, meeting people, digging into stories and pointing cameras at things I think are worth remembering.
The cameras got smaller — but the projects got bigger.
THE LONG WAY AROUND
Filmmaking wasn't exactly the obvious career path.
I trained in food processing in Germany and spent the following decades doing all sorts of things in different countries — while filming and editing remained a hobby that I kept coming back to.
Long before I ever uploaded anything to YouTube, I'd already spent years playing with cameras, editing videos and documenting whatever caught my interest. I never went to film school. I learned by doing — mostly because I enjoyed doing it.
Eventually, YouTube gave all of that somewhere to go.
What started as videos made for the internet gradually turned into something bigger: travel films, explorations of forgotten places, football stories and documentary projects across different countries.
Somewhere along the way, the hobby stopped being a hobby.
NOW I MAKE THE STORIES I WANT TO SEE
These days, I work independently — following stories because they fascinate me, not because they fit neatly into a particular genre, platform or algorithm.
Sometimes that means football. Sometimes forgotten history, strange places, motorcycles or people whose stories lead me somewhere I never expected.
I don't know exactly where every project will take me. That's rather the point.

FOOTBALL IN RIO — MORE THAN A GAME
A feature-length independent documentary exploring the history, culture and extraordinary passion of football in Rio de Janeiro.
Football in Rio — More Than a Game goes beyond the matchday experience to explore how football became woven into the identity of one of the world's most iconic cities — from its British roots and historic clubs to the terraces, streets and people who keep that passion alive today.
Currently in production in Brazil, the film is the culmination of years spent documenting football in Rio — and my biggest filmmaking project to date.
NEXT PROJECT — 2027
THE FILM THAT MADE ME WANT TO MAKE FILMS
In 1997, a group of teenagers in southern Germany picked up a camcorder and made a movie with their friends.
No film school. No industry connections. No real budget.
Somehow, that film found its way to me — and changed what I thought was possible.
Three decades later, I'm going back to find the people behind it and tell its story.

SNOWBIRD ADVENTURES
Not every story has a beginning and an end.
Snowbird Adventures is the ongoing side of my filmmaking — documenting the roads, places and experiences that happen between the bigger projects.
Roadside Discoveries explores interesting and unexpected places I encounter along the way, while The Long Ride Home follows the bigger story behind it all: the journey, the projects and the life happening around them.

Bloody Fox Hot Sauces
Remember that seemingly unrelated food-processing qualification I mentioned earlier? Turns out it wasn't entirely pointless.
Bloody Fox Hot Sauces grew out of years of cooking, experimenting with chillies and developing recipes wherever I happened to be living — from Europe to Mexico and beyond.
It's my excuse to combine an old profession with a long-standing obsession: creating ridiculously hot things that actually taste good.
Because heat is easy. Flavour takes work.
